Brave the Lake

Monday we woke up late and choose to do nothing. The weather was so fantastic, that we sat by the pool, played tennis and walked around town a little. I was able to swim my first mile in more than 4 weeks in a pool that is amazing, but still a little cold. My entire family and I braved the lake. They have a diving board on some scaffolding out in the lake, its quite the thrill to jump off it. I tried to catch some rays the rest of the morning. As most of you know, relaxing is not a term in the Seconi vocabulary.

Lunch was in town at this wonderful pizza and pasta place. If you find these little hole in the wall restaurants in Italy they are almost always good, and this was no exception. The pizza here puts the pizza in New York to shame. Sorry everyone back home reading this, I love NYC but this just blows it away. After lunch we walked around town for a bit and I found my first predicted purchase. I know, you have to be brave to wear pink on a bike.In Italy, cyclist are revered as gods, drivers will wait to pass you in lines of 25 cars, just to make sure you have enough room. Its great, and a welcome change from the city.

We finished off the day at a small restaurant in town. The food again was fantastic. I had simple fettuchinni with tomato sauce, and believe it or not, steak! We finished off the day with drinks down by the water. Everyone still had jet lag and it was some time before we wandered off to bed.
